Strymon Demo Day on Saturday, April 14, 2018

Join us on Saturday, April 14. 2018 for our first ever Strymon pedal demo day. This event will feature demos of a variety of pedals from the Strymon line. We will show you how to get some of the most iconic guitar sounds ever recorded with Strymon pedals from Pink Floyd and Elvis to Jeff Beck and more. Not into the classics? Thats cool too. Strymon has some of the most cutting edge pedals available today and and they are used by a number of modern bands. We will show you how to get some of those crazy sound scape and shoegaze sounds as well modern overdrives and more.

11am- Store Opens and ALL Strymon pedals will be available for customer demo and purchase. 


12pm- The Sounds of Legends featuring Steve Blake

Many of our customers know Steve Blake as the guitar repair wizard who runs our instrument repair shop. Steve is also known in Baltimore as one of the premier band leaders and hired gun players and he performs regularly all around the Baltimore area. Steve has performed the entire catalogs of the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, The Band, Tom Petty, AC/DC, and Fleetwood Mac among many others. Steve has a reputation for going into precise detail in finding these iconic guitar tones and in this clinic, he will teach you how to find those sounds with some of the Strymon pedals that he relies on night in and night out. 

2pm- Finding Inspiration In Tone featuring Ryan Fowler

In addition to owning Ryan Fowler's Guitar Experience, Ryan has recorded and toured all over the world with The Kelly Bell Band. Ryan's approach to the guitar comes from a passion for innovation and creative ways of using effects as an inspiration for songwriting. Ryan has played guitar on a number of records and he will show you how to make your effects work for you in a way that won't impede the creative process. From simple layered guitar tracks to effect heavy sonic landscapes, Ryan will talk about getting the technical hangups of gear out of the way of the creative process. 

330pm-The Sound of Modern Guitar Featuring Chelsea Tyler

Many of our customers know Chelsea as a woman of many hats here at RFGE. Chelsea does everything from selling gear to developing our website and running our lesson program here at the shop. When she is not here at the shop, Chelsea is the front woman of one of the hottest independent bands in Baltimore, DRMCTHR (Dreamcatcher). Her band is known for creating, effect heavy layers of guitar to create a unique blend of alternative, independent rock. Chelsea will talk about some of the sounds of the younger generation of guitar players and how to push sonic boundaries with modern effects.
