1981 Gibson CMT The V Tobacco Sunburst w/ OHSC
1981 Gibson CMT The V in Tobacco Sunburst with Original Hardshell Case—a distinctive early-’80s take on Gibson’s legendary Flying V, pairing the radical body shape with the upscale figured-top treatment of the CMT series. The Tobacco Sunburst finish gives this V a warmer, more traditional look while highlighting the carved maple-top aesthetic that sets it apart from a standard Flying V. Dual humbuckers provide the thick rhythm tones, strong midrange, and sustaining lead voice expected from a Gibson, making it equally comfortable with classic rock, hard rock, blues, and heavier styles. The set-neck construction and open upper-register access give the guitar a solid, resonant feel while remaining well suited for expressive lead work. Built in 1981, this CMT The V comes from an especially interesting period in Gibson history and offers significant appeal for collectors seeking uncommon variations on the company’s iconic designs. Includes the original hardshell case for secure storage and transport. This guitar is in very good overall condition. It is a killer player with nice action and it sounds great. There are a number of small dings and scratches as you would expect on a guitar of this age but there are no repairs or mods. Its a nice original example and it includes its original hardshell case.
