Electro-Harmonix Pico Rerun Tape Delay
Electro-Harmonix Pico Rerun Tape Delay
The Pico Rerun Tape Delay from Electro-Harmonix is all about marrying vintage vibes with modern features! This compact stompbox packs wide delay ranges with as much as three seconds on tap — enough to send notes into outer space with no trace of reality left behind! Delay times as low as eight milliseconds ensure plenty of classic sounds onboard, including slapback for slight enhancement with few repeats. The Rerun’s saturation knob also captures the warble, warmth, and drive of a tape-style preamp, which allows your signal to be thickened or driven to taste. What’s more, the Pico Rerun Tape Delay allows for tempo tweaks and experimentation on the fly. There are built-in tap tempo tools, a footswitch hold function for triggering runaway oscillation, and control over delay behavior when bypassed. If you’re perusing delay pedals, the Rerun Tape Delay combines vintage magic and modern features at the right price! Enticing tape delay crackle and warmth only get better with a bit of modulation and saturation. The Pico Rerun can do both! A center toggle button offers three modulation levels for enhancing delays or giving them total sonic makeovers. Low modulation yields slight chorusing with a more natural guitar presence. Higher settings produce otherworldly warbles packed with seasickness and nausea. The modulation toggle plays well with the Rerun’s saturation knob, which emulates the full, warm sound of tape delay preamps. This preamp-style control, along with a blend knob, gives users broad coloration options, including distortion and crunch. As if that wasn’t enough, the Rerun’s footswitch packs a bonus hold function when engaged. Holding the footswitch sends the pedal into self-oscillation with infinite streams of repeats. Holding the footswitch can produce a soft pad-like ambience, shrill heavy-handed feedback, or something in between, depending on the other settings. The Pico Rerun Tape Delay customizes easily, even on the fly, with tap tempo and selectable tails/no tails bypass, making it a perfect choice for live use. Tempos are set by pressing and releasing the footswitch, and the Rerun’s LED confirms the tempo with blinks for visual reference. Additionally, when bypassing, you can switch between delay tails that fade naturally or an instant cutoff that’s ideal for tight transitions and solos.
