The Magical Supertune...Why Our Guitars Are Better Than Theirs

The Magical Supertune...Why Our Guitars Are Better Than Theirs

Ever wonder why you buy a guitar from one dealer, used or new, and it plays amazing and then you buy one from another dealer and it feels awful? Or why you always seem to have issues with switches or scratchy pots? I have worked in guitar shops my entire adult life, nearly 16 years and I have the answer for you. They didn't set it up and in some cases they didn't even plug it in. The guitar came into their shop, they snapped a pic, hung it on the wall and when it sold they threw it into a box and sent it out. I would never call out anyone by name but that happens in guitar shops all across the country and some of the mom and pop dealers are just as guilty as the national chains. Believe it or not, this is very common. Some stores do this by design to try to upsell you into a custom supertune. The thinking is that they can get an extra $60-$75 bucks out of you if you want your new axe to play well. Who would ever want that? Not cool! Other shops just lack the man power to put hands on every piece because they either don't employ a good luthier or they don't have the time to get to everything. There is also the third possibility which I have also seen over and over again...the guy selling the guitar can barely play and doesn't know the difference between a good set up and a bad one. Yes, that guy exists in a lot of music stores.

At this point you may be reading this and fuming because it has happened to you. Fear not, if you buy a guitar from us we promise it will never happen again. We have an entire workshop dedicated to setting up and fixing every guitar or bass that we sell. We do everything from simple string changes to refrets and crack repair. Every instrument is checked for electronic issues and we make sure that the necks are properly adjusted, the intonation is correct and the striking distance is at the proper height. We also oil the fretboards, polish the frets and adjust the pickup height to make sure that everything is as good as it can be. We have several luthiers and electronic technicians that we outsource to as well in the event that we have too much work or we have an issue that needs special attention. These guys are the best of the best. They either have worked for or currently work for one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the country and they are absolute experts at their crafts. The best part about all of this is that we do it all for FREE! Yes...I said FREE! We don't advertise that we offer guitar repair because it is not the core of our business and we only work on our own inventory but we are just as capable as any shop in town. I left those other shops that I worked at because I wanted to be able to take control of the entire customer experience without having to rely on someone else. I was tired of having to apologize for things like poor packing and shipping and poorly set up guitars. To me when you buy a guitar you should receive a piece that plays as good as it can and it should have no hidden issues. That is what we strive to achieve with every deal. When you buy a guitar from us, all you have to do is tune it up and play. We take care of the rest.
