The latter of these features, dubbed Scalloped V-Class bracing, opens up this Grand Auditorium’s low-end response with a deep, rich character, splitting the difference between V-Class’s precise balance and a warmer, more X-brace-adjacent tone. This cutting-edge advancement in bracing technology supports the time-tested 814ce recipe of a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides — a tonewood duo that only bolsters the natural brawn of Scalloped V-Class bracing with ringing overtones and a voluminous projection. Plug in, and Taylor’s refined Claria electronics faithfully capture the Next Generation 814ce’s complex acoustic character with plug-and-play simplicity, supported by soundhole-mounted Volume, Tone, and Mid-Contour controls.
